Secretary, Workers Compensation, Newcastle

We are looking for a proactive Legal Secretary with 2-3 years’ litigation experience to join our Newcastle Workers Compensation team.
As part of our Newcastle team you will have the opportunity to work closely with a team of secretaries and solicitors in a busy, fast paced environment with the benefits of collaborating with our Sydney head office. 

In this role you will be supporting Partners, Senior Associates and Solicitors and will be responsible for:

  • Word processing, typing and collating documents from digital dictation as well as formatting documents quickly and accuratelyPreparation of files, briefs, directions, subpoenas and other legal or court documents

  • Liaising with clients and other parties including barristers, doctors, witnesses and process servers

  • Maintaining electronic calendars for fee earners

  • Monthly billing including preparation and review of draft bills

  • Maintaining and monitoring LPG timeframes and data.

  • Working as part of a team to ensure that effective secretarial cover is maintained.

The successful applicant will have excellent accuracy and attention to detail and ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.  Having strong verbal and written communication skills are essential and demonstrated initiative and willingness to assist where required.

Graduate, Workers Compensation & General Insurance, Sydney 

Reporting to the Partners, we are looking for Graduate Solicitors up to 2 years PQE to join our Workers Compensation and General Insurance teams. In these roles you will be exposed to a range of matters and will be responsible for a varied file load, working closely within a team of experience professionals.

You will work collaboratively within the team and will be responsible for:

  • Assisting lawyers in managing litigated and un-litigated claims

  • Analysing liability evidence

  • Drafting of chronologies and subpoena for production

  • Attending court for mentions

  • Preparing briefs for counsel

  • Attending conferences with witnesses and counsel

  • File management

  • Drafting and amending correspondence

It is important that our Graduates have strong communication skills and are flexible and adaptable in a collaborative team environment. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic and a team orientated attitude.


Solicitor (2+ PQE Years), Workers Compensation, Sydney 

The opportunity has arisen to appoint a suitably qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years’ PQE to our growing Sydney Workers Compensation team.

In this role you will be exposed to a range of matters, including recoveries, and will have the opportunity to learn from a number of our senior practitioners and collaborate with our Newcastle office. You will have strong litigation and research skills, as well as a keen eye for detail.

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • Respondent and defendant experience within a well-regarded, fast paced practice

  • Experience acting for scheme agents, as well as self and specialised injuries

  • Experience advising on liability, quantum and litigation strategy

  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and recent changes

  • Strong matter management experience

  • A self-starter, able to work in a team environment


Solicitor (2+ PQE Years), General Insurance, Sydney

We are seeking a Lawyer with 1 – 2 years’ PQE to join our established General Insurance practice group. In this role you will be exposed to a range of litigated claims with particular focus on personal injury and CTP.

The ideal candidate will have a sound academic record together with the following experience:

  • A strong insurance background with demonstrated experience in a general insurance desirable

  • Ability to provide clear advice on legal rights and obligations of parties in a diverse range of complex factual scenarios
