Mitchell’s experience spans both the NSW and ACT jurisdictions, predominately advising insurers on statutory and common law claims arising from workplace injuries.
He advises self-insureds, client insurers, and employers in matters where resolution of a workers compensation dispute may have significant consequences for the employer and also works with insurers on general liability and indemnity issues.
By understanding the needs of all parties involved and the issues which are most important to his clients, Mitchell is able to achieve beneficial outcomes for both insurers and employers.
He regularly appears as an advocate both in the Personal Injury Commission and common law jurisdictions and is admitted to practice in NSW and the ACT.
Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws (with merit) from the Australian National University and joined Hicksons in 2015.
