Hicksons is a mid-tier law firm with offices located in Sydney, Newcastle and Canberra.  Our firm provides a full range of corporate, commercial, IT, property and insurance law services to corporate and government clients.

We are looking to appoint a Legal Secretary to assist two busy Associates and one Solicitor in our General Insurance Group in the Sydney Office.

You will be responsible for managing diaries, co-ordinating client communications, producing documents and correspondence, managing files, preparing billings and many more. This role is multi-faceted and requires an individual with initiative and a professional approach to their work.

Experience required:

  • 4+ years legal experience
  • Litigation experience essential
  • Experience in district court, supreme court and other higher courts and tribunals
  • Managing large, sensitive and complex files
  • Preparation of briefs to counsels
  • Experience in formatting and preparation of court documents
  • Ability to prioritise and multi task
  • Be self sufficient, organised and team orientated
  • Advanced in Microsoft Word
  • Basic in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills
  • Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm
  • Dictaphone experience essential
  • Good written and communication skills
  • Performing general and administrative duties
