The Partners of Hicksons are delighted to announce the appointment of experienced insurance lawyer Bill Pardy as Partner, effective 1 January 2011.

“Bill has impressive experience in insurance litigation, and has demonstrated a strong commitment to providing excellent service and practical legal solutions to the firm’s clients,” he said.

Bill’s 11 years experience spans general insurance litigation, industrial relations, occupational health and safety and employment matters. He specialises in statutory insurance schemes for employers.

He commenced with Hicksons as a Solicitor in July 2006 and was appointed an Associate in July 2007.

Bill takes a practical approach to statutory insurance matters, always trying to identify a speedy, equitable and legally appropriate outcome at an early stage in the proceedings. Bill regularly appears as an advocate for insurers and employers in matters which proceed to the conciliation / arbitration stage.

His approach to more complex matters involves close co-operation with employers including extensive conferencing and site visits. He has achieved excellent outcomes in matters by investigating opportunities for recovery against third parties and by initiating informal settlement conferences where appropriate to promote the timely resolution of disputes.

Bill’s experience ranges across various industries including manufacturing, health, construction and education.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales. He was admitted to practice in December 1999 in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. He is also admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia.
