Brad leads Hicksons Workplace Relations practice group.  For over 23 years he has advised private and public sector employer clients in transport, construction, government, energy, health, finance, technology, hospitality and insurance. Brad regularly appears before Fair Work Australia, the Federal Industrial Magistrates Court, State industrial tribunals and common law courts on behalf of employer clients.

His experience covers all aspects of labour law including: application of the Fair Work Act 2009, modern awards and National Employment Standards on employment contracts and HR policies; transitional arrangements under modern awards, employment contracts and HR policies; the application of modern awards; enterprise bargaining under the Fair Work Act; good faith bargaining guidelines; defending unfair dismissal claims and adverse action claims; issues arising from dismissal of injured employees; separation issues linked to redundancy or non-performance; workplace bullying, discrimination and sexual harassment advice and investigations; enforcing restraints of trade; advising on contractor and outsourcing arrangements; HR policy review; transfer of employment issues on sale or acquisition; and drafting senior management employment contracts.

His expertise extends to industrial and workplace relations strategy matters such as: drafting, negotiating and processing enterprise agreements under the Fair Work Act 2009; seeking dispute orders; resolving workplace differences; wage negotiations; corporate restructuring; privatisation of government enterprises; and outsourcing and co-sourcing arrangements.

Brad also co-authored a book titled Enterprise Bargaining – A Practical Approach, published by Federation Press.

He is a regular speaker at legal and HR events on a range of important contemporary and emerging workplace issues for Australian employers.

Brad, who holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), commenced with the firm in April 2009. He is admitted to practice in New South Wales.
