The following four testimonials are from current lawyers in our firm.
"I consider myself very fortunate in my role as a graduate solicitor at Hicksons. It was apparent from the first day that I arrived that the firm has a solid foundation of team work and take an active role in training young practitioners. I have found the opportunity to work in diverse areas of practice both rewarding and challenging. Under the guidance of my very approachable Partner and fantastic Associates, my first six months at Hicksons have been an incredibly hands on experience that I know will serve me well as I progress throughout my legal career.
The social aspects of the firm are also to be marvelled. Hicksons has an incredible culture in which everybody is encouraged to participate in "everything and anything". This ranges from touch football and soccer to Friday night drinks and casual dress days, as well as actively participating in various charitable events and fundraisers. The social committee works very hard in creating a pleasant and friendly working environment fostered by strong mentoring and career progression. Overall a fantastic place to work!"

"I joined Hicksons Lawyers in September 2009 as a graduate in the Sydney office. The one thing that impressed me the most about Hicksons is the people with whom I’ve been able to work with. Not only are they exceptionally knowledgeable and well recognised as at the top of their respective fields, but they are genuinely friendly and always willing to share their knowledge with the junior people. The best aspect so far has been the exposure to a wide variety of interesting and challenging matters. As a member of the insurance practice group, my work includes drafting letters to clients, preparing research memoranda and briefs, corresponding with counsel and appearing in Court – all within the space of five months! This variety of work has given me great general experience and has helped me develop skills across a range of different areas.
I can honestly say that working at Hicksons has been a life changing experience!"

"I joined Hicksons as a graduate solicitor in the Workers Compensation team in November 2008. Since the commencement of my time with the firm, I have found it to be an amazing place to develop and build my skills as a legal practitioner. The firm has a fantastic open door policy and provides a great range of mentoring from senior practitioners. The firm has encouraged me to form my own ideas and express opinions on issues together with the opportunity to meet and work directly with clients.
I was initially attracted to Hicksons not only due to its corporate values but also to the wide range of social activities and charity work the firm is involved with. Since my time at Hicksons, I have enjoyed being a part of the firm’s social committee, raising funds for our nominated charity, being a part of sporting teams, including a member of the ski team for the annual lawyers ski weekend.
I look forward to continuing to grow and develop my skills with Hicksons into the future."

“My Summer Clerkship experience exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I started at Hicksons, in the General Insurance team, I was made to feel like part of the team. I got a solid insight into the workings of a law firm and worked directly with partners, contributing to the day to day running of matters. It was an incredibly hands on experience and there were more than enough people willing to answer my questions and to take the time to explain how and why a particular task was done. I also participated in the soccer and touch football teams, and enjoyed the social atmosphere of Friday night drinks. I continued as a Paralegal and now a Solicitor in the same team and enjoy strong mentoring and progressive responsibility. The environment is friendly, relaxed and collegiate - the perfect place for a career.”
