Based in Sydney, Partner Derek Luxford heads a team which is very experienced in shipping and all modes of transport, logistics, trade, energy and insurance. The team advises on all aspects of:

The team advises clients on the legal framework and commercial background which embraces international and domestic trade and the carriage of goods including all aspects of insurance and finance.

Clients in the transport sector include cargo owners, ship and other transport owners and operators, freight forwarders, stevedores, logistics providers, trade financiers, and insurers and re-insurers.

Our trade practice embraces exporters and importers, commodity traders, primary producers and manufacturers and their insurers and financiers.

In the energy sector, the team represents onshore and offshore explorers, operators, suppliers and their insurers.

The team works in all aspects of legal services by supporting clients with commercial dispute resolution (including mediation and arbitration), ship arrest and enforcement of judgments and arbitration awards.
