Our Balanced Working Environment

Hicksons aims to create a working environment that provides a fulfilling career while allowing a balanced lifestyle.

Hicksons has a Business Casual Dress Policy for professional staff, although they are required to be suitably attired when meeting clients. We support a Mufti-day each Friday when staff can wear casual clothes including jeans. Our Mufti-days raise funds for the firm's preferred charity. Our office social activities provide the opportunity to relax with work colleagues. The firm sponsors a family picnic day, various sporting activities and our Christmas Party for the participation of all staff. We have negotiated discounts for staff for gym memberships and health insurance.

Friday night drinks, a tradition at Hicksons, are provided for staff.  At drinks held at the end of each month, our partners take the opportunity to address staff on major developments in the firm.

Our people are encouraged to participate in various corporate, sporting challenges including touch football, soccer, triathlons, the City2Surf and the MCRI Foxtel Lap which we won in 2006.  We also sponsor community fundraising events such as the annual Pink Ribbon Breakfast to help raise funds for breast cancer research.

Work Life Quality

Hicksons places a high value on ensuring that staff balance their work and personal/family responsibilities. The firm has an Employee Assistance Program available to all staff and their immediate family, which provides an external counselling service to assist with any personal stresses or concerns that may be affecting their quality of life. The firm also provides study leave.
